ABOUT Marine & Offshore Qatar (MOQ)

Qatar’s Energy Investments and Sustainability Goals

Qatar is currently developing 18 projects across its oil and gas sectors, with a projected capital expenditure (CAPEX) of $60.2 billion. This substantial investment reinforces the country’s global leadership as the world’s top exporter of liquified natural gas (LNG) and sets the stage for future growth in the Persian Gulf’s energy landscape. Qatar is also working on curbing emissions across all sectors by 25 per cent by 2030.

By 2027, Qatar aims to increase its LNG production capacity from 77 million metric tonnes per annum (mtpa) to a staggering 126 million mtpa. This growth is driven by the expansion of state-of-the-art LNG facilities, spearheaded by QatarEnergy, which has already awarded contracts worth billions of dollars to international partners.

Opportunities for Businesses in Qatar

With rising investments and cutting-edge developments in natural gas production and sustainable energy solutions, Qatar offers significant opportunities for companies seeking to expand their business operations in the region. The country’s focus on sustainability and innovation ensures that it remains a central player in the global energy transition.

The oil and gas industry remains the backbone of Qatar’s economy and is expected to play a pivotal role in its economic growth for the foreseeable future. The nation’s strategic planning and robust energy policies continue to attract international attention and partnerships.
